小小的拖把头状花序，其闪耀的不育花从夏季至秋季经历白色至粉色至红紫色的一系列变化。具齿的叶片初具紫色，成熟后绿色，秋季又具红色至紫色晕色。茎褐红色。

Features small mophead-like panicles in which the showy sterile florets progress through several different color changes (white to pink to reddish-purple) over a long summer to fall period. Serrate leaves emerge purple-tinted, mature to green and again acquire red to purple tints in fall. Dark maroon stems.
